UnderFire

Dyin' aint an' Option

~1996 just outside the Iranian border~

The truck bounced from side to side on the rough roads.  Two other trucks followed behind the first along with a tank in the back, and two jeeps in the front.  The hot desert sun and harsh sand gave no comfort to the soldiers in each vehicle.  They had been traveling for four days and nights.

Inside the first truck six soldiers sat.  Two of them, George Hanson and Jim Banks, were asleep. Kate Jino, Commander Voss, and Commander Jacobson were discussing further plans.  All while the sixth, Stephen Voone, sat fingering his pocket knife. Including the driver there were seven men.

Inside the second truck four soldiers, including the driver, guarded the weaponry. In the third truck another seven soldiers slept, not including the driver. As they drove across the desert they could hear sounds of distant fighting, and random explosions.

The next page:

Just above the caravan a helicopter followed, looking for anything that might endager their charges on the ground.  The whole scene seemed peaceful and quiet but in reality they were gambling with death putting their own lives on the chopping block.  Traveling for four days in the hot blistering desert sun had taken its toll, along with the cold silver moon above.

The sand all around the caravan started to shift and then trapdoors opened on every side.

(there will be more but i cant seem to beable to rewrite any of it so it sounds better.)
